My name is Mihai Moldoveanu. I’m a 33 year old, self-taught electric bass player living in Timișoara, Romania. I started playing bass around 2003, and since 2008 I have been regularly playing and touring with several Romanian bands and artists, having up to 70 gigs per year. In 2017 the Jazz Banat Cultural Foundation gave me the “Bass player of the Year” award.<br/><br/>I played in the past with Alexandrina, Urma and dordeduh, and currently I play with JazzyBIT, Amalia Gaiță, Sunset in the 12th House and Paperjam, the improvised music event founded by me in 2012. Alongside with JazzyBIT, dordeduh, Sunset in the 12th House and Urma I played many concerts abroad, including the festivals Jarasum Jazz (South Korea), Hellfest (France), Wacken (Germany), Sziget (Hungary) or Exit (Serbia).
